Celina Marquez and Nixon Hernandez

The names of those who will occupy the universal swimming places for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games are already known. They are Celina Márquez and Nixon Hernández. With this, pending any last minute news, the athletes of the El Salvador delegation will be eight.

Both Celina and Nixon are the representatives of the country for being the ones who managed to accumulate the most FINA points. In the case of Márquez, it will be his second Olympics, since he also participated in Tokyo 2020, where he competed in the backstroke modality.

For Hernandez, who competes in freestyle, this will be his first Olympic Games. The 26-year-old swimmer will have a unique experience in Paris.

They join sailor Enrique Arathoon, badminton player Uriel Canjura, surfer Bryan Pérez, archer Óscar Ticas, shooter Israel Gutiérrez and judoka Jairo Moreno.

It only remains to be known if Pablo Ibáñez, in the 400 meter hurdles, achieves his mark during the Central American Athletics Championships to qualify. Otherwise, there will be eight athletes who will be competing for El Salvador in the French capital.
