Die ecotrans Ladies Open 2024 ended Sunday in the sold-out Steffi-Graf-Stadium at the LTTC “Rot-Weiß” e. V. in Berlin with the victory of Jessica Pegula. Since 2021, the emotion group By hosting this WTA tournament, Berlin has once again established itself as a fixture in the international tennis calendar, having already hosted the bett1ACES in 2020. “Our tournament has become a globally recognized event,” says Edwin WeindorferFounder and CEO of emotion groupNow he is handing over the organization of this tournament to other hands; from 2025, the WTA tournament in Berlin will be organized by an organizer yet to be announced.
The tournament will remain in Berlin. In 2025 the event is scheduled for June 14 – 22.
Weindorfer raved about the development of the tournament, which he predicts has excellent prospects for the future: “This tournament has gotten better and better and has never been as good as it is this year, the fans are embracing it and the best players in the world want to play here in Berlin. In addition to the many supporters, my special thanks go to bett1 as a long-standing title sponsor and this year’s title sponsor, the ecotrans Group.”
This year there were eight top 10 players.
Also tournament director Barbara Rittner is therefore optimistic about the future: “We have a world-class field, the players are happy to come to Berlin.”
It should stay that way.
