England needs a draw to win Group C

England’s national football team secured victory in Group C at the European Championships despite a goalless draw against Slovenia. The “Three Lions” finished the preliminary round with five points and, like Denmark and the Slovenians (each with three points), reached the round of 16. The Danes also failed to get past a 0-0 draw against Serbia.

In the final standings, Denmark pushed Slovenia out of second place, as they were on the same level in terms of both points and goal difference. As both teams also received six yellow cards each in the preliminary round, the final placing in the European Championship qualification decided the outcome. Denmark finished ninth and Slovenia came 15th.
