Esther Guerrero wins the medal in the 1,500 meters

Esther Guerrero was one step away from getting a medal in the final of the 1,500 meters of the European Championships in Rome. The banyolina started the race in a good position with the best and managed to hold on in this privileged group until the last lap, when there were only four athletes at the front fighting for the victory. The triumph went to the Irish Ciaran Maggean, followed by the English Alexandra Bell and the French Agathe Guillemot, who saw Guerrero close on his heels in the final meters but ultimately saved the podium position by less than half a second.
