Euro 2024: French referee François Letexier on the whistle for the Spain-Georgia round of 16

Didier Deschamps’ men will not be the only French in the last 16. François Letexier has also been selected to officiate during the final stages of this Euro 2024. He will be accompanied by his refereeing team, composed of Cyril Mugnier and Mehdi Rahmouni as on-field assistants as well as Jérôme Brisard on video. The French quartet will therefore lead the match of all attention, Sunday at 9 p.m. at the Cologne Stadium.

Spain, the big favourites in the competition, emerged from the “group of death” in first position by winning all three of their matches, against Italy (1-0), Croatia (3-0) and Albania (0-1), with remarkable control.

Opposite, Georgia, excellent in its victory against Portugal (2-0), the Caucasian nation qualified for the round of 16 by being one of the best third-placed teams. For their first participation in the Euro, the Georgians will play a round of 16 against the best in Europe.

The 35-year-old official has already been appointed to two matches in the German competition, both of which ended in draws: Croatia-Albania (2-2) and the last Group C match between Denmark and Serbia (0). -0). On Sunday, however, a winner will be needed.
