Euro 2024 Group A Provisional Standings: Germany Followed by Switzerland

Germany still leads the standings in Group A Euro 2024 after crushing Scotland 5-1. However, they were followed by Switzerland who also succeeded in silencing Hungary 3-1.

Switzerland silenced Hungary 3-1 in a match held in Cologne, Saturday (15/6) evening WIB. Goals from Kwadwo Duah, Michel Aebischer and Breel Embolo could only be answered once by Barnabas Varga.

This victory puts Switzerland in second place in the standings with three points. Murat Yakin’s team only lost on goal difference to Toni Kroos et al who won 5-1 over Scotland. Tartan Army is in bottom position with no points, losing on goal difference to Hungary.

The second match in Group A will take place four days from now. Germany will host Hungary in Stuttgart on Wednesday (19/6) at 23.00 WIB. Three hours later, or Thursday (20/6) WIB, it will be Switzerland’s turn to meet Scotland in Cologne.

Will Germany and Switzerland be able to win again? Or are Hungary and Scotland able to rise from adversity?
