Euro 2024: one million followers in 15 days on Instagram… Turk Güler ahead of Ronaldo and Mbappé

There is the ranking of scorers and the ranking of… followers! As the Euro group stage ended on Wednesday evening, the Spanish sports betting site Apuestas-deportivas.es set out to establish which players involved in the competition had gained the most Instagram followers during the first part of the competition, from June 13 to 27.

According to the site’s counts, the Turkish Arda Güler is at the top of the top 10 Euro players, with 1,093,669 followers gained in the last fifteen days. A nice performance from the young Real Madrid player, 19 years old, who scored a sumptuous goal during Turkey – Georgia (3-1) on Tuesday June 18. The promising young Turk is ahead of Cristiano Ronaldo, 2nd with 996,661 subscribers gained, and Jude Bellingham, 3rd, whose score stands at 725,529.

Mbappé 4th

Kylian Mbappé, 706,332 subscribers, comes in 4th position, ahead of the young Spaniard from Barça Lamine Yamal, 653,928, 5th.

The rest of the top 10 is as follows: 6. Calafiori (Italy), 404.544; 7. Yildiz (Turkey, 373.554); 8. Wirtz (Germany), 335.738; 9. Kroos (Germany); 10. Musiala, 10.

With over a million followers now, Arda Güler could potentially be worth $100,000 per Instagram post.

Every medal has its downside, some players have lost followers over the same period. This is the case for example of Robert Lewandowski (Poland), who has some 20K fewer followers than at the start of the tournament. The Dutch Steven Bergwijn and Frenkie de Jong are also down, with 13K and 11K fewer followers respectively.

Overall, Euro players have gained over 13 million followers. The various detailed rankings are available on the site Apuestas-deportivas.esFor some, the competition continues and the numbers have not finished climbing.
