Euro 2024: The Blues in full training before the 8th against Belgium

It was under downpours and particularly unpredictable weather that the players of the France team trained this Sunday morning in Paderborn, on the eve of their round of 16 of the Euro against Belgium. As before facing Poland, the Blues favored a session at the Home Deluxe Arena rather than in Düsseldorf, where they will face the Red Devils on Monday at 6 p.m., to prepare for this decisive meeting.

Didier Deschamps was able to count on a full group for this last training session. Hit in the left knee and preserved on Saturday, Ibrahima Konaté was, as expected, very present alongside the rest of his partners. Just like Kingsley Coman, who could leave the gathering in the coming days, his wife being about to give birth.

Towards a return of 4-4-2

Hat on his head, Kylian Mbappé was also on the pitch during this first quarter of an hour open to the press. The rest of the session, played behind closed doors, was to allow Didier Deschamps to make his final decisions regarding the team composition he will field against the Belgians. In recent hours, the strong trend has been towards a return to a 4-4-2, already glimpsed against the Netherlands, with Griezmann expected in the starting lineup.

After lunch at their base camp, the Blues will head to Düsseldorf by plane and not by bus, the means of transport they used before playing Austria on June 17. The coach of the French team and a player will appear at a press conference at 7:30 p.m. at the Merkur Spiel-Arena.
