Slovenia fights its way into the round of 16 against England – The highlights in the video

Slovenia fought for a surprising draw against England and moved into the round of 16 as third in the group. England disappointed again, but still secured first place in the group. The highlights in the video.

The fact that six of the eight round of 16 matches have not yet been decided is due to the complex qualification system for the third-placed teams in each group. Before the final games on Wednesday, a knockout match between the Netherlands and England is on the cards. Spain’s opponents are also still unknown.

Some are already thinking about the big quarter-final. On July 5, the German national team could face Spain at the European Championships in Stuttgart. While the DFB team knows that they need to win against Denmark beforehand, the Iberians’ opponents have not yet been decided. The team that has probably been in the best form so far in these finals will play against a third-placed team in the group in the round of 16.

The four best third-placed teams from the six groups will advance to the round of 16. Which teams these will be will only be revealed after the last four group matches on Wednesday. Only the Netherlands and Slovenia have already secured their place in the round of 16 as third-placed teams.

The decisive factor is which groups the four third-placed teams come from. As things stand, the “lucky four” are the teams with the codes: A (Hungary), C (Slovenia), D (Netherlands) and E (Slovakia).
