(ANSA) – ROME, JUNE 23 – Hungary striker Barnabas Varga is in a hospital in Stuttgart where he has been fitted with a neck brace. Previously he had been forced off, taken away on a stretcher, during the second half of the match against Scotland after falling violently to the ground during a play and hitting the back of his head. To his teammates he gave the impression of not being able to move, while a few moments too long passed before the Hungarian footballer was rescued. In the meantime his companions, some of whom appeared upset, had surrounded him and had formed a circle around him, unrolling a brown ‘sheet’ to cover the scene from the view of the cameras.
