Status: 12.06.2024 11:18 a.m.

Led by a brilliant Cristiano Ronaldo, Portugal won its last test before the European Football Championship in Germany with ease. Coach Roberto Martínez’s team defeated Ireland 3-0 (1-0) on Tuesday evening (11.06.24). Ukraine also remained unscathed.

Joao Félix gave the Portuguese the lead in the 18th minute in Aveiro. Ronaldo, who had already been conspicuous in the first half and had hit the post with a deflected free kick, then really got going after the break. The 39-year-old first scored a great goal in the corner (50th) and followed it up with his second goal ten minutes later.

At the European Championship, Portugal will play in Group F on 18 June against the Czech Republic (9 p.m./ARD), on 22 June against Turkey (6 p.m./ZDF) and on 26 June against Georgia (9 p.m./ARD).

Ukraine with good dress rehearsal

The Ukrainian national football team also passed the dress rehearsal six days before their opening match at the European Championships. Coach Serhiy Rebrov’s team defeated Moldova 4-0 (2-0) in Chisinau on Tuesday (11.06.24). Roman Yaremchuk (2nd), Viktor Tsygankov (43rd), Artem Dovbyk (49th) and Georgiy Sudakov (54th) scored the goals for the Ukrainians, who had previously forced a 0-0 draw with the German team and then lost 1-3 in Poland.
