Everything to be decided in the VI Malaga Sailing Cup

This Saturday the second day of the VI Málaga Sailing Cup continued its course, being held on the Costa del Sol until this Sunday, June 9, in the waters of the Bay of Málaga.. The instability of the wind and its continuous roles meant that tactics were the key to the third and fourth rounds of the championship. The weather conditions complicated the work of the boats since at the beginning of the day the offshore wind blew, starting at 18 knots, and having peaks of more than 35, especially in the coastal sleeve. Coastal test

This first windward and leeward leg had a distance of 6.6 miles for the ORC 1-2 class and 4.98 miles for the ORC 3-4-5 classes. In addition, this Saturday the coastal test also took place, which covered a good part of the Malaga coastline with a distance of 12.5 miles.

In the ORC 1-2 class it was the Solerig VI of the owner Ignacio de Colmenares who won both rounds of the third day. In the first, the Ucosound-Tareist of Joaquín Angoloti del Monte was second and the Seabery Mar Amigo Sail-Racing of the owner Basilio Marquínez finished in third position. Later in the coastal test, the Solerig VI remained unbeatable and once again dominated the test. Seabery Mar Amigo Sail-Racing improved one place and finished second while Ucosound-Tareist gave up one place. In the absence of the last day of this Sunday, The general classification is led by the Solerig VI with 6 points, the Seabery Mar Amigo Sail-Racing with 7 and in third place is the Ucosound-Tareist with 11.

ORC 3

In the ORC 3 class, the undisputed leader remains Varicentro-De 6 by Javier Cañizares, which repeats victory in its modality after winning in the first round of the day and also adding two first places in the previous rounds. Of course, in the fourth test they finished in fourth position. Behind in this first race on Saturday, he concluded Aquilon of the point guard Ignacio Benthem of the Real Club Mediterráneo. The third position went to Leonoris whose owner is Pablo Corrales. Later in the coastal test, the victory was taken by Ernesto Vera’s Rayter followed by Boat Málaga and in third position the Varicentro-De 6 concluded this heat. In the general classification, Mito leads the table in this modality with three points and is followed with the same number by Sueño and Olivita with seven.
