Marco Baroni will sign a two-year contract and take the reins of Lazio after the rift between owner Lotito and Tudor. Fresh from salvation at the helm of Hellas Verona, Baroni had also been explored by Monza who ultimately opted for Alessandro Nesta. The 1963 class from Florence achieved two very significant victories in the last two years of Serie A, first with Lecce and then with Verona, earning the attention of even high-end clubs. Finally the call from Lazio arrived.
