F1 Austrian Grand Prix: at what time and on which channel to follow qualifying and the sprint?

Will Red Bull once again become sovereign in qualifying on home soil? After having taken seven pole positions in the first seven meetings of the Formula 1 season, Max Verstappen and the Austrian team have just failed to take the lead in the last three Grand Prix (Monaco, Canada, Spain).

So there is no question of seeing Charles Leclerc, George Russell or Lando Norris, the last three polemen, once again steal the front row on the Red Bull Ring, the temple of the winged bull, for the two races scheduled this weekend.

A sprint weekend

In a less dominant RB20 than the previous season, the reigning triple world champion has seen the competition make life difficult for him in recent weeks, even if his lead in the championship remains considerable (69 points over Norris). Proof of this is that his teammate Sergio Perez has not done better than 8th place at the start of the last three rounds of the season.

The weekend’s sprint format could help them maximize their performance on a circuit they know inside out. The Red Bulls are announced at the forefront of the sprint race and the Grand Prix on Sunday.

The sprint race of the Austrian Grand Prix will start on Saturday, June 29 at 12:00, just before the start of qualifying, scheduled for 16:00, for Sunday’s race. This very dense program will be available on Canal + Sport, and the summary on leparisien.fr.
