FC Bayern Eyeing Manchester City Star Bernardo Silva Under New Coach Vincent Kompany

New coach, new wishes, new superstar? FC Bayern, under Vincent Kompany, is reportedly targeting the next big name and, according to English media, is considering signing a key player from Manchester City.

As the “Daily Star” reported on Sunday evening, FC Bayern has not yet given up on the possibility of signing ManCity star Bernardo Silva. According to reports, the Munich club are willing to activate the £50 million release clause in the Portuguese’s contract.

The Silva trail to the German record champions is nothing new. The 29-year-old was already linked with a move to Säbener Straße at the end of April. The rumor mill calmed down for a while, but with the appointment of Vincent Kompany, the topic is now heating up again.

Kompany advocates Silva’s move to Bayern

According to the “Daily Star”, Kompany sees his former teammate – both played together in Manchester for two years – as the ideal piece of the puzzle for rebuilding the Munich team. Silva is used primarily in attacking midfield in Pep Guardiola’s team, but regularly moves to the right wing. His contract in Manchester runs until the summer of 2026.

The Portuguese international has regularly proven in recent years in the sky blue jersey that Silva meets the highest standards. Under Guardiola, he was also one of the undisputed regular starters last season.

Since his move from Monaco in the summer of 2027, the Portuguese has won six English league titles, two domestic cups, three League Cups and two domestic Super Cups while playing for Manchester City. He also won the Champions League, Club World Cup and UEFA Super Cup with the team in 2023.
