FC Bayern’s Major Overhaul: Promising Talents Loaned Out for Development

FC Bayern continues to plan its major overhaul. This includes giving promising talents playing time at other clubs. But this can only succeed under certain circumstances.

FC Bayern’s squad for the coming season continues to take shape. While Hiroki Ito was the first official transfer, work is continuing on the signing of Jonathan Tah (Bayer Leverkusen). Michael Olise’s arrival from Crystal Palace is considered a formality.

Some come, others go – at least for now. Frans Krätzig is loaned to VfB Stuttgart, Paul Wanner to 1. FC Heidenheim.

Hoeneß and Schmidt are the deciding factors

“It’s good for both of them when they can train and play at the highest level. A big factor are the two coaches: Frank Schmidt in Heidenheim and Sebastian Hoeneß in Stuttgart. These are two people who can be trusted from Bayern’s point of view,” says SPORT1 chief reporter Stefan Kumberger in the current episode of the podcast “Die Bayern-Woche”.

The insider is certain that both coaches will not burn out the Bavarian jewels, but will promote them in the best possible way. This is important to the record champions if they are already entrusting Krätzig and Wanner to other clubs.

The target remains FC Bayern

Even though both youngsters will not be playing in Munich for the time being, the goal remains to integrate the talents into the record champions.

“We all still have the examples of David Alaba and Phillip Lahm in the back of our minds,” said Kumberger. And he continued: “One was loaned to Hoffenheim, the other to VfB – it worked out wonderfully there.”

The insider praises the Stuttgart and Heidenheim teams for their serious work, which could help the players. And FC Bayern doesn’t have to worry about its talent either.

You can hear the entire discussion, as well as the analysis of FC Bayern’s current squad planning, in the current episode of the SPORT1 podcast “Die Bayern-Woche”. Other topics covered by Stefan Kumberger and presenter Bjarne Voigt include the fuss surrounding “fitness pope” Prof. Dr. Holger Broich and the statements made by Joshua Kimmich in his ZDF documentary.
