In action at Sesc Venda Nova, in the capital of Minas Gerais, Fluminense lost 2-0 to América-MG, this Wednesday (26/06), in the 11th round of the Brasileirão U20. With the result, Tricolor, which has 11 points, remains in 14th place on the championship table.

The kids responded quickly to the goal conceded in the 19th minute. Moments later, Arthur took a risk from the edge of the area, forcing the goalkeeper to palm it. In the remainder, Jan Lucumí also stopped at the archer. Throughout the first half, shots from Isac Martins and Riquelmy Tavares, as well as other attempts from Arthur and Lucumí, put the opponent’s goal in danger.

The home team increased the score in the 13th minute of the final stage. Enzo then took off on the right and crossed for Riquelme Felipe, who sent it over. In the end, Tricolor got better chances. Arthur, trying again from distance, bumped into the goalkeeper once again, who, on the rebound, saved Júlio Fidelis’ shot.

Riquelme Felipe even took paint off the archer’s left post when finishing from long distance. Like other Moleques from Xerém, the midfielder saw good shots intercepted by the defense. He insisted in stoppage time, but the ball went too high.

The team led by coach Rômulo Rodriguez returns to the field this Saturday (29/06), when they face Boavista, at 2:45 pm, at the Vale das Laranjeiras Stadium, in Xerém, in the fourth round of the Carioca Championship.
