Former Cameroonian International Landry N’Guemo Dies in Tragic Road Accident at 38

Former Cameroonian international (42 caps) and notably spent in the jerseys of AS Nancy-Lorraine, Bordeaux and Saint-Étienne, Landry N’Guemo died this Thursday in a road accident. The ex-midfielder was 38 years old. “ASSE is mourning one of its own. To all of its loved ones, we send our most sincere condolences,” reacted the Greens on X (formerly Twitter).

“The Club learned with sadness of the death of Landry Nguemo. Victim of a traffic accident in Cameroon, the former Bordeaux player passed away at the age of 38. FC Girondins de Bordeaux sends its most sincere condolences to his family as well as ‘to his loved ones’, wrote the Bordeaux club, where N’Guemo had played 83 matches. Having also played for Celtic Glasgow (Scotland) and Akhisar Belediyespor (Turkey), the man who trained in Nancy ended his career at Kongsvinger IL Toppfotball (Norway).

“Landry arrived at the ASNL training center at the age of 16, he played with the first team between 2005 and 2011, winning, among other things, a League Cup, recalled ASNL. After retiring from professional football, Landry returned to the club as coach of the U16 team with the desire to ‘pass on to the kids’ his knowledge and experience. Rest in peace Landry.”
