Former NBA Star Chase Budinger Qualifies for Olympic Games in Beach Volleyball

NBA stars at the Olympic Games in Paris are not only present on the basketball court – an ex-professional has also qualified for the Summer Games in beach volleyball. Chase Budinger and his partner Miles Evans secured their place – the two will thus be one of the two men’s duos from the USA to compete in France.

The 36-year-old played seven seasons in the NBA and was under contract with the Houston Rockets, Minnesota Timberwolves, Indiana Pacers and Phoenix Suns. It will also be the first time the second US duo Andy Benesh/Miles Partain will be taking part in the Olympics.

The German champions Nils Ehlers/Clemens Wickler have also already secured their participation in the Olympic Games through their international rankings. For Lukas Pfretzschner/Sven Winter, the final Olympic qualifying tournament from June 13th to 16th in Jurmala, Latvia, is their only chance of qualifying for Paris. A maximum of two duos per nation are allowed to compete at the Olympics.
