Another weekend to remember for Palfinger Reggio Emilia who scored a double against Grizzlies Torino and consolidated their lead in group E. Claudio Biagini’s boys prevailed in Saturday afternoon’s match with a combined no-hit from Enrico Zanchi, Federico Faini and Fabio Riccò Panciroli. While his teammates put together twelve hits (with a home run by Marc Rodriguez). Two attacks were enough for the Reggio players (the first from four, the second from three) to close the match. Codogno did an encore in game 2 with a score of 6-5, made exciting by the performances of Quesada and Zambrano, undefeated for 4 minutes. In the fifth Codogno scores with Tommaso Nani pushed home by Mattia Caimmi. In the 6th the Catalans turn the score around with Luigi Gintili’s three-run home run. Oltretorrente wasted important opportunities in the second and third innings and managed to score in the fourth inning following a defensive error by their opponents. Sheldon and Giovanni Bortolomai neutralized the guest’s attack until the seventh where hits from Yan Perez and Federico Tiburtini inspired the 3-0. The Lombards got the first three batters of the eighth inning on base, but scored just one run on a single by Simone Calasso. The Emilians regained the lost point with a single by Federico Tiburtini, then left the bases full. Catellani ends the match with his first save of the season.
