Fred. Olsen Express once again operates between El Hierro and Tenerife through its new maritime route, which will have the capacity to transport up to 17,000 passengers, 4,600 vehicles and 13,000 linear meters of cargo per week. The service, which already has active ticket sales, will begin on December 31 of this year. It will have a winter schedule with 14 departures a week (7 from each island) and a summer schedule, which will be reinforced with 2 extra daily trips on Mondays, Fridays and Sundays. In total, 20 trips a week during the summer period, and with the possibility of extra reinforcements on dates of high demand, such as Christmas or Easter, and on designated festivities, such as the Bajada de la Virgen de Los Reyes.

In winter, there will be a daily departure from El Hierro at 2:00 p.m. and from Tenerife at 5:00 p.m. While, in summer, in addition to the previous departures, there will be extra trips on Mondays, Fridays and Sundays, at 10:30 from Los Cristianos and at 20:00 from El Hierro.

As confirmed by the general director of Fred. Olsen SA, Andrés Marín, “the offer translates into more than 16% frequencies in winter and approximately 67% more weekly trips in summer, compared to the current offer.” “Likewise, with this service proposal for El Hierro, we have the capacity to move 40% more passengers per week in winter, and twice as many travelers in summer, than the existing service today,” adds Marín.
