The German national football team has enough time to prepare for the round of 16 of the 2024 European Championship. Tuesday (June 25, 2024) is free, and on Friday they will fly to Dortmund.
Family day at the base: Anyone who wanted could bring their family and friends to Herzogenaurach or even go on an excursion.
On Tuesday evening, however, the quarters will once again belong to the DFB entourage alone. The programme is for “group watching”, as the Group C matches between England and Slovenia and Denmark and Serbia will decide who the German team will face in the round of 16 on Saturday (June 29, 2024, 9 p.m.).
On Friday flight to Dortmund
On Wednesday, national coach Julian Nagelsmann will ask his squad to return to training at 11 a.m. There will be a press conference at around 1 p.m., the line-up is still open.
This also applies to Thursday, when training also takes place, albeit in secret. Not even the usual first 15 minutes of the session are open to the media. As the DFB announced, this applies to all training sessions two days before a match during the tournament. The reason is that standard situations are practiced on “Matchday -2”.
The DFB selection will complete its final training session on Friday in Herzogenaurach. In the afternoon, they will fly from Nuremberg to Dortmund. There, in the early evening, they will hold a press conference with national coach Nagelsmann and a player.
