French Athletes Marion Borras and Amélie Cordeau Selected for Paris-2024 Olympic Games

The French National Olympic and Sports Committee (CNOSF) published this Friday a new list of 39 athletes selected for the Paris-2024 Olympic Games (July 26-August 11) in different disciplines. Including Iséroise Marion Borras in track cycling and Haut-Savoyarde Amélie Cordeau in archery.

Borras: “We hope for great things”

Bronze medalist during the time trial of the French road cycling championships last week, Marion Borras expected this selection.

The VC Pontcharra track rider, who rides for the Saint-Michel-Mavic-Auber 93 team, will compete in the Madison and the team pursuit. Discipline in which the Bleues remain on two bronze medals during the 2022 and 2023 Worlds.

“I am really delighted with this announcement,” rejoiced the Isère resident. “We have worked a lot for these Games since Tokyo, we hope for big things this summer in Paris, so having the selection acquired and being able to participate in two events that I particularly appreciate, the Madison and the team pursuit, it is really a chance. Something very important to me, so I will do my best to appear well and represent our beautiful country! »

Cordeau, an archer just 18 years old

At just 18 years old, Amélie Cordeau is the rising star of French archery. The archer from the Première Compagnie d’Arc d’Annemasse was notably European team champion in recurve arch in May.

The young woman from Haute-Savoie will be competing in three events: the individual, the women’s team and the mixed team.
