He was the French hero of the day. Who? Kevin Nzuzi Diasivi (AJS 77). French Champion +90kg and four medals in the European Cup this season, this judoka with explosive shoulder movements offers, in fact, the team title to the French team this afternoon in Sofia! A decisive victory against the Turk Fatih Dursun during the seventh fight and here are the Bleuets who find the first step of the podium after their 2022 coronation!
Kevin Nzuzi Diasivi who had already taken on the role of savior during the quarter-final against Germany, since again, it was he who gave his team the fourth point thanks to his ippon-seoi-nage.
A day during which France beat Ukraine (4-1), Germany (4-3), Georgia (4-1) and therefore Turkey. A Sunday where Nzuzi Diasivi and Léonie Minkada-Caquineau (Dojos de l’Agglomération du Niortais 79), vice-champion of Europe yesterday in +70kg, were the locomotives of the team. Note the very good day of Lalla-Dounia Lahrifi (AJBD 21-25) who, in -48kg, won the key fight against Germany, beating the reigning European champion.
A team competition with seventeen participating nations – including defending champion Azerbaijan, but without Russia, its judokas fighting under the status of neutral international athletes.
In bronze, Germany and Poland. See you now at the end of August in Lima (Peru), for the world championships.
