The French Open men’s compound team finished just off the podium at the World Ranking Tournament in Nove Mesto (CZE). The Blues lost the bronze medal match to Spain. There are still two chances for medals this Saturday for the French.

This Friday, the Blues played their first medal match of the week with a bronze final between France and Spain. The two teams jostled for position throughout the match to find themselves tied before the final end. The Spaniards Fernando Galé Montorio and Adrian Martinez Torre then achieved a perfect volley of 40 points to secure victory. With a volley of 38 points, the French duo composed of Maxime Guérin and Thierry Joussaume bows out and sees the podium pass under his nose. Defeat 153 points to 151 for the Blues.

The competition continues this Saturday with a first match at 11:10 a.m. for Thierry Joussaume in Open compound bow. He will face the Indian Rakesh Kumar for the bronze medal. Guillaume Toucoullet will close this world ranking tournament with the Open recurve final at 4:50 p.m. against the Indonesian Kholidin.
