(pm). The Friedberg Braves’ winning streak in the Hessen baseball league continues. The team from the district town celebrated a 20:0 victory against Hünstetten Storm II on the Seewiese. The Braves have thus consolidated their second place in the league table behind the still unbeaten Flyers from Wiesbaden.

With Colin Bernhöft on the mound, the Friedberg team started confidently on their home field. Bernhöft had the opposing offense firmly under control and hardly allowed the Hünstetten team to hit for long stretches – and if they did manage to score a hit, the Braves’ attentive defense was there to thwart any attempt by the opposing team to score a point.

The only home run of the game was scored by Joshua Lucio Tippmann. It was he who then brought about the early end of the game in the fourth inning, in collaboration with Friedberg’s “veteran” on the baseball field, Jamie Harrison.

With the score at 17-0, Lucio Tippmann made a long hit with two runners on base, allowing both runners to score. Even on base one, Lucio Tippmann dared to try to steal first second base and then third base – which was successful. With a hit from Harrison, Tippmann was finally able to score the point himself to make it 20-0 – the game ended under the mercy rule.
