From Costa Rica to Champions: The Journey of the Boston Celtics’ Winning Coach

He is a friend of the organization. He was a chess prodigy from the age of seven to 18. “He went on to promote tai chi, MMA and jiu jitsu,” he explained to Lowe.

Waitzkin’s story is portrayed in the film The Search for Bobby Fischer and he now resides in Costa Rica.

“He is one of my closest friends, but he has become a coach for me,” Mazzulla explained, adding that “Josh uses chess, fighting, and uses other things to build concepts and themes that we can relate to throughout.” throughout the season.”

Given this, the coach could not refuse when Waitzkin invited him to visit him in Guanacaste.

“We bought four plane tickets and we are going to Costa Rica for a week. Simply, we liked spiritual, mental, physical, emotional work and working on the principles and concepts that lead to greatness. We ended up spending a week in the jungle, tearing ourselves down and rebuilding ourselves,” Mazzulla stressed.

Twelve after spending a week here with Waitzkin, the Celtics celebrate one more championship.
