From his broken nose to his return to the field, how Mbappé adapted

With his nose broken, a little disoriented, Kylian Mbappé still has this moment of lucidity. He saw that Didier Deschamps, despite two stoppages in play, was unable to replace him. The French team is outnumbered against a threatening Austria. Then, with his right hand still on his face, he enters the pitch without the referee’s authorization and sits down to request medical assistance again and interrupt the match. Jesus Gil Manzano, the Spaniard who officiated that evening, walked towards the captain of the Blues with a determined step and brandished a warning at him. Mbappé knew what he was exposing himself to. He did not score but, at least, he allowed his team to find themselves back at eleven afterwards, Deschamps taking advantage of this to bring in Olivier Giroud (1-0, June 17). On the other hand, what Mbappé did not know is whether he would be able to play again during this Euro.
