Robert Andrich’s career has been atypical, with a very slow development. He did not make his Bundesliga debut until he was 25 (he was just a month away from turning 25). At that age, most people would say that if he hasn’t made it to the top, he’s not going to make it, but the midfielder had to go through a series of processes. He was born in Potsdam and played in the youth ranks of Hertha Berlin. “I lived with two other players. The regional league (the fourth division) was not good, we were much better than our rivals, but the club did not want to be promoted and it was impossible to be relegated with that group of players, so everything was relaxed. From Third to the Bundesliga
Andrich’s apprenticeship was not over. He did not make his debut in Hertha’s first team and went to Dynamo Dresden, in the Third Division. His time of partying continued and when the team was promoted in 2016, he barely played, and that frustrated him and made him reflect. His maturity came with the next jump, to Wehen Wiesbaden. “I looked for a Third Division club that had the ambition to be promoted. The team played proactive football that adapted to my style, I met my wife… Everything went upwards,” he explained. The following season he was in the Second Division at Heidenheim and in 2019 he finally reached the Bundesliga, at Union Berlin, of which he was part of two seasons until signing for Bayer Leverkusen in 2021.
His tattoos
