About five years ago, the Traditional Archery Club of Villafranca de Córdoba began its life journey, basically due to the desire and ambition of a Cordoban like Francisco Javier Prieto, who wanted to continue enjoying his favourite sport, which is none other than archery. Thus, with the support of the local City Council, the entity took its first steps in the warmth of his loved ones. Passions that are transmitted, that are in the DNA and passed from generation to generation by pure natural selection. Also by the idiosyncrasy of the discipline itself and the atmosphere generated among a group of friends who meet weekly to enjoy hitting the line. Enthusiasm far removed from the masses, who find their own light beyond the general spotlights. And they sow a legacy.
You have to be on the front line literally, although not so much metaphorically. And the participants of the Villafranca team have well assumed that. Being in the center of the target, despite having to compete with the most popular and traditional sports that are developed in the municipality, where even takewondo also has a prominent place. However, based on effort and desire they have managed to carve out a path where the Villafranca Traditional Archery Club is already a provincial reference. In an apparently hostile environment, more for the ways of getting there than for the background, they have managed to hit the mark. Straight to the yellow, although not without having gone through many blues and reds first.
