Gabriel Bortoleto wins in Austria, Isack Hadjar on the podium

2023 F3 champion Gabriel Bortoleto won his first race of the season on Sunday in the main race of the Austrian Grand Prix. The Brazilian benefited from a perfect strategy put in place by the Invicta team. Argentinian Franco Colapinto (MP Motorsport), also a rookie, finished second by overtaking Isack Hadjar with two laps to go.

The Frenchman, on the last step of the podium, ended his Austrian weekend on a good note despite the numerous bickering with his teammate Josep Maria Marti (Campos Racing), who felt he had more pace to go for victory at the end of the race . The Spanish driver exploded with anger on the radio, believing that his team had not favored him.

Oliver Bearman (PREMA), expected to join Haas (F1) next season, retired (engine failure) just after halfway through the race while he was well established in the top 5. His teammate, Andrea Kimi Antonelli, possible replacement for Lewis Hamilton at Mercedes in 2025, had an anonymous race (15th). Victor Martins (ART) only finished 12th.

In the drivers’ standings, Estonian Paul Aron (Hitech Pulse-Eight, 6th after a five-second penalty) is still the leader (115 points), but sees Hadjar closing in (106) before the British GP at Silverstone next week.
