Galatasaray Men’s Basketball Team announced that it signed a 1-year contract with Roberts Blumbergs. Blumbergs played for Aris last season.

He was born on April 28, 1998 in Ventspils, Latvia. Roberts, who started his basketball career in the city where he was born, started playing for BK Ventspils Augstskola team in the 2013/14 season when he was only 15 years old. Although he mostly played for the junior team, he played in 9 matches with his team. The following season, he was transferred to TSV Quakenbrueck, which competed in a regional league in Germany. The player, whose performance here attracted attention, was transferred to the Artland Dragons team, playing in PRO-B, the German second league, in the 2015/16 season, when he was only 17 years old.
Thanks to his rising performance at a young age, he signed with SC Rasta Vechta, one of the Bundesliga teams, in the 2016/17 season, but with the decision he made at the beginning of the season, he stepped into the Czech League by signing with GBA Sparta Praha team. Completing the season in Czechia, Robets Blumbergs headed to the United States for university education. He played in the NCAA with his alma mater, Grand Canyon State University, in the 2017/18 and 2018/19 seasons. He played in 32 matches in his first year and 21 in his second year. He returned to his country at the beginning of the 2019/20 season and performed with Valmiera Glass VI in his first season and with BK Liepaja in his second season.

When we came to the 2021/22 season, Roberts Blumbergs headed to Spain by signing with Easycharger Palencia, which was in the LEB Gold, the second league of Spain that season. He finished the season with 9.4 points, 4.7 rebounds, 59.2% field goal accuracy and 32.9% three-point percentage in 38 games with the Palencia jersey. In the 2022/23 season, he was transferred to the Romanian League with BC CSU Sibiu team. He contributed to his team with 15.6 points, 5.8 rebounds, 1.2 assists and 45.3% 3-point shooting in the 36 games he played here.
With his performance in the Romanian League, he was transferred to Aris, one of the Greek teams, at the beginning of last season and played in 27 matches in the Greek League and 13 matches in the EuroCup. While averaging 9.0 points and 3.1 rebounds in Greek League matches, he completed the season with 53.6% field goal accuracy and 45.3% three-point field goal accuracy.
