German Midfielder Aleksandar Pavlovic Out for First Week of European Football Championship Due to Infection

German midfielder Aleksandar Pavlovic will not be able to start the first week of the European Football Championship as planned.

The 20-year-old is missing from DFB team boss Julian Nagelsmann’s preparations for the opening match on Friday against Scotland due to an infection.

Bayern professional Pavlovic had already missed a possible DFB debut in March due to tonsillitis. Last week he played his first international match in the Ukraine test (0-0).

Pavlovic also worked for Serbia

Although Pavlovic was born in Munich, he holds dual citizenship because his father is from Serbia.

This enabled the now DFB youngster to play in a selection of friendlies for the Serbian U18 national team before he was called up for the first time for the German U20 team in November 2023, for which he played two games.
