Never change a winning team: As expected, Germany’s national coach Julian Nagelsmann is sending the same eleven onto the pitch for the second European Championship match against Hungary as he did in the opening victory against Scotland. These men are supposed to fix it.

“We have assigned the roles. We have also made it clear that the performance has to be right. All eleven players performed well from the start. But also all those who were substituted. In other words, they also performed their roles and their jobs well. So there is no reason to change anything now.” Before the DFB team’s second European Championship match, national coach Julian Nagelmann already let it be known that he would be looking for a substitute for the match against Hungary this Wednesday evening (6 p.m., live on Das Erste and Magenta TV or on stern-Ticker) wants to use the same eleven as in the 5-1 opening win against Scotland – and that’s exactly what will happen.

Germany vs Hungary – the line-up for the European Championship match

Around 75 minutes before kick-off, the DFB announced the official team line-up for the match in Stuttgart, this is it:

Tor: Manuel NeuerDefense: Joshua Kimmich, Jonathan Tah, Antonio Rüdiger, Maximilian MittelstädtMidfield: Robert Andrich, Toni Kroos, İlkay Gündoğan (captain), Jamal Musiala, Florian WirtzAttack: Kai Havertz

A win against Hungary would secure the German national team a ticket to the round of 16, and a draw would most likely be enough to advance. However, the DFB team has struggled against Hungary recently. In the last encounter, they suffered a 0-1 defeat in 2022. The last German victory was eight years ago.

Croatia and Albania played against each other in Group B in Hamburg in the afternoon. The match ended 2:2 (0:1). You can see the highlights and all the goals of the match in the video here:
