Germany Leads Group A Standings After Three Rounds of Matches

After three rounds of matches in Group A, Germany earned seven points, Switzerland collected five points, Hungary collected three points and Scotland won one point.

Hungary beat Scotland 1-0 in Stuttgart in the other group game on Sunday.

The Germans beat Scotland 5-1 and Switzerland beat Hungary 3-1 in the opening games of Group A, while in the second round Germany beat the Hungarians 2-0, with the Swiss and Scots playing 1-1.

The last time the two teams met in the Nations League matches was in 2020, with both matches ending in a draw (1:1 and 3:3). In 2012, the Swiss celebrated the victory in the test match, and in this match both current national team captains – Granit Xhaka and Ilkaj Gindoan – went on the field.

24 national teams, divided into six subgroups, participate in the final tournament of the European Championship. The winners of the first two places in each subgroup and the four best national teams that finished in third place enter the elimination tournament.

The 2024 European Championship will be held in ten German cities from June 14 to July 14. The new European champion will be determined at the Berlin Olympic Stadium.

The current European champion is Italy, who in 2021 beat England in the final in London in penalty kicks.
