The squad for the new season is taking shape at Gisa Lions MBC. The vacant center position has now been filled with a tall US colleague. River Baldwin is already the fourth new player.

The Gisa Lions have found a new center. River Baldwin will replace Courtney Warley next season, who wants to take a step back from professional sport for the time being. Baldwin is the fourth new addition to the MBC after Romy Bär, Nicole Brochlitz and Dominika Fiszer.

“Great physique and good throwing quality”

“We are very happy to have signed a top rookie in River. She brings a strong physique under the basket, good shooting quality and maximum defensive pride. Her commitment and powerful style of play fit our league and will enrich our game. We are happy that we can accompany her on the first stage of her professional career,” explained sports director Mario Zukowski with a view to Baldwin.

The 23-year-old, 1.96-meter-tall American most recently played at North Carolina State University. She spent the last five years in two of the most prestigious basketball programs in the NCAA college league. She reached the Final Four with the team. Across the season, she contributed 10.6 points and 6.9 rebounds.
