After the last group matches of the European Football Championship on Wednesday evening, the picture of the third-placed teams in the groups is now clear. Finally, debutant Georgia secured the last round of 16 tickets thanks to a surprise 2-0 victory over Portugal in Group F, as did Slovakia in the tight Group E. With these, the top two in each group and the four best third-placed teams from the six pools will move on to the knockout phase.
After the final reckoning, or three days after its last group match, Hungary slipped out of the group of the four best third-placed teams. The Netherlands, Georgia, Slovakia and Slovenia will be among them.
