This was said by the Governor of Guanajuato, Diego Sinhue Rodríguez Vallejo, at the flag ceremony for the Guanajuato High Performance Athletes who make up the Mexican delegation at the XXXIII Olympic and XVII Paralympic Games in Paris 2024.

“We look forward to seeing you in Paris, know that we will accompany you from a distance in each competition; You represent the most valuable harvest of sports in Guanajuato; “You are history, you are inspiration, you are the example that we want to follow,” said the Governor.

At the moment, the Guanajuato delegation is made up of 9 Olympic athletes and 3 Paralympians; The list could grow according to other validations from the Mexican Olympic Committee and the results of some competitions.

The 9 people from Guanajuato to the Olympic Games are: Laura Esther Galván Rodríguez, in Athletics; Lizeth Rueda Santos, in Triathlon; Mathias Grande Kalionchiz, in Tire

with bow; Erika Monserrat Rodríguez Suárez and Adair Zabdiel Gutiérrez Prieto, in Mountain biking.

Also Ricardo Ortiz Rivera, in Athletics (Walking); while Prisca Guadalupe Awiti Alcara and Paulina Lizbeth Martínez Claro will do the same in Judo; in addition to Andrea Palafox, in Women’s Rifle.

For her part, Andrea Palafox received the Flag from the Governor, and on behalf of her colleagues she promised to offer her maximum effort in the competitions.
