She put up a fierce fight against the Finnish Vilma Viitannen, eighth in the world. Thanks to offensive tactics and hard-hitting sequences, the Vietnamese boxer was able to gain the upper hand over her opponent, only losing in the 3rd round before returning to control in the following rounds. Hà Thi Linh could not hold back her tears when she learned that she had qualified for the 2024 Olympic Games. At 31, this boxer, gold medalist at the 32nd Southeast Asian Games held in Cambodia in 2023, is one of the three oldest Vietnamese athletes to be qualified for these games, following in the footsteps of boxer Vo Thi Kim Anh (under 54 kg category) already qualified for Paris.

Le Vietnam a donc d’ores et déjà décroché 11 qualifications pour les JO de Paris: Nguyen Thi That (cyclisme), Trinh Thu Vinh, Le Thi Mong Tuyen (tir sportif), Vo Thi Kim Anh, Ha Thi Linh (boxe), Nguyen Huy Hoang (natation), Trinh Van Vinh (haltérophilie), Nguyen Thuy Linh, Le Duc Phat (badminton), Nguyen Thi Huong (canoë-kayak) and Pham Thi Hue (aviron).

But if some already have their ticket in their pocket, others will have to fight until the last minute to have the honor of representing Vietnam and win a medal.

In judo, Hoàng Thi Tinh (under 48kg category) is still awaiting confirmation from the International Judo Federation to know if she will be able to participate in the 2024 edition of the Olympics.

The elimination rounds for qualifications in many disciplines have not yet been completed, and Vietnam hopes to secure two to four additional tickets in archery, judo, swimming and athletics.
