In the third meeting within two days, the Munich-Haar Disciples celebrated a 5:4 victory over the Heidenheim Heideköpfe. As was the case the day before in Heidenheim’s 2:3 opening victory and Haar’s 1:0 revenge, both teams gave each other no quarter.

The guests from the Swabian Alb took the lead in the opening inning through Gary Owens, who scored to make it 0-1 after a hit by William Germaine. The home team responded immediately: Lukas Steinlein and Patrick Music turned the lead around after hits by Callum Murphy and Simon Lechner.

After the Disciples, in the person of Patrick Music, were able to take advantage of an error in the third inning to make it 3-1, the Heideköpfe fought their way back into the game. First, Drew Janssen was successful with a solo home run in the fourth inning. In the sixth inning, Nate Thomas equalized after a double from Drew Janssen, who shortly afterwards ran on a triple from Maurice Montgomery to give Heidenheim the lead again at 3-4.

But the Upper Bavarians did not give up and turned the game in their favor in the seventh and final inning. Lukas Steinlein equalized after a hit by Patrick Music and Callum Murphy finally scored the 5:4 winning run after a hit by Phildrick Llewellyn.

Drew Janssen (6+ IP, 5 R, 8 H, 4 BB, 6 K) had to accept the loss for Heidenheim. Jan Endrejat (1 IP, 2 K) was awarded the win. Juan Salazar (5 IP, 3 R, 8 H, 1 BB, 4 K) started the game for the Disciples.
