How would you evaluate the performance of the Czech national team, which was eliminated in the group?
The first game against the Portuguese was certainly not ideal, although no one expects us to beat them. I expected more from the duel with Georgia. We had what it takes to beat her, we have to convert chances. That’s mainly why we didn’t advance, the duel with Turkey would have looked different. Without wanting to make excuses for anyone, I agree that in the last game the referee did not help us and partly stepped into it. Overall it’s a disappointment, the group was on course for promotion. If I were there, I would get the lens too, that’s why I don’t want to rate the Euro more. It’s just a shame and a failure, now we have to succeed, for example, to advance to the World Cup.
And briefly about Sparta, how did it transform itself after the departure of coach Brian Priske?
Nothing will fundamentally change, which was also the plan of the management. We will continue on the set path. We managed to supplement the implementation team, personally I am now extremely satisfied. I hope that what has been started will continue.
EURO 2024 in Germany
The European Football Championship, which will be played in ten German cities from June 14 to July 14, 2024, has moved into the knockout phase. The Czech national team took fourth place in the basic group and did not advance to the playoffs.
