In the opening game of the 12th matchday on Friday evening, the Stuttgart Reds suffered a painful 0:15 defeat at home against the guests from Heidenheim. The game was already over at the end of the 6th inning due to the 15-run rule.

At first, the spectators in the new Reds Stadium at Schnarrenberg experienced a balanced game between the fifth and second placed teams in the South table. In the 3rd inning, Heidenheim’s new signing David Dinski scored the lead goal with a solo home run. Just two at-bats later, first Shwan Larry and then William Germaine hit two more solo home runs to make it 3-0.

The guests were able to add to their lead in the next part of the game. First, an RBI single from Maurcie Montgomery secured a run, before Gary Owens corrected the score to 6:0 from Heidenheim’s perspective with a two-run home run.

Things got clearer in the 5th inning: The Heideköpfe put a total of eight runs on the scoreboard. Thanks to numerous walks, four Heideköpfe were able to advance to home with the bases loaded. And the final 15th run was also scored in the 6th inning with a walk.

The win goes to Sven Schüller, who only allowed 3 hits and 1 walk in 6.0 IP. Reds starter Kevin Riello Quiroga was replaced after just three innings and suffered the loss for 4 ER, including 3 HR, 4 H and 0 BB.
