(ANSA) – LOS ANGELES (USA), JUNE 25 – The Florida Panthers beat the Edmonton Oilers 2-1 in game 7 of the North American NHL ice hockey championship final, lifting the Stanley Cup for the first time in their history . Edmonton had lost the first three games of the series and then tied, but failed to turn the situation around in the decisive game on the ice in Sunrise, Florida. The Oilers dreamed of being the first Canadian team that won the NHL after the victory of the Montreal Canadiens in 1993.
