Hopes Dashed: Julia Grabher Faces Setback in Olympic Pursuit

Julia Grabher has to accept a setback two days after she was invited to the Olympic tournament.

At the ITF tournament in Klosters, Switzerland, she was defeated by Dutchwoman Jasmijn Gimbrere in three sets (6:4, 3:6, 3:6). For Grabher, it was the first match after a long break.

In the first set, she made up a break deficit and turned it in her favor. However, sets two and three went to her opponent, number 695 in the WTA world rankings.

Tamara Kostic is another Austrian competing in an ITF tournament. The Viennese fought her way through the qualification in Palma del Rio (Spain) and will play her first round match on Wednesday evening.
