Houston Rockets Exercise Team Option on Jae’Sean Tate: What’s Next for the Disappointing Forward?

As we approach the free agency, ESPN continues to rain down different decisions from players and franchises regarding options. In this case, it is the turn of Rockets to activate the “team option” of Jae’Sean Tate for next season.

The 28-year-old winger will therefore receive $7.6 million in 2023–24… but there is no guarantee that he will receive it at Houstonsince the Texan leaders intend to be active during the summer and a transfer cannot be ruled out (Kevin Durant?), since this contract is rather attractive.

Especially since Jae’Sean Tate, who is now no longer a starter for the Rockets, remains in a generally disappointing season in a more ambitious team: 4.1 points and 3.0 rebounds on average, at 47% on the shoot (including 30% on 3-points), for “only” 16 minutes of play. He who, during his first two years in the league, averaged nearly 12 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists and 1 interception in the starting five. But then the results did not follow…
