Hurdlers Strametz and Diessl move closer to Paris

The hurdlers Karin Strametz (13.02 seconds) and Enzo Diessl (13.75) have come very close to their goal of participating in the Olympic Games in Paris with victories at the national championships in Linz. Sprinter Markus Fuchs was beaten by a thousandth of a second to Noel Waroschitz (10.40) in the 100 m and did not receive the full bonus points, but still has a good chance. European champion Victoria Hudson won with the javelin (63.10 m), and Lukas Weißhaidinger won with the discus (63.40).

Among those who have already qualified for the Summer Games, 400m runner Susanne Gogl-Walli (52.32) was also in action and victorious. Sprinter Magdalena Lindner did her best with a win (11.60) to significantly improve her ranking. The qualification deadline for the Olympics is Sunday, and those who are placed accordingly in the “Road to Paris” ranking can plan for France.
