Three Ibizan archers have been summoned by the Spanish team after their good performance in the final qualifier of this season’s junior and cadet national team selection system, held over the weekend at the Technical Center of the Madrid Archery Federation .
The 47 athletes who participated in the final qualifier faced an intense weekend, which started on Friday with a double round, after which a first eliminatory phase was played. On Saturday they continued with the qualifying rounds, but in this case all the athletes in each category faced each other, in two rounds that took place both in the morning and in the afternoon.
Finally, on Sunday two double rounds were played, after which eliminatory rounds were held again between all the participants in each category, although on this occasion resolved directly through tie-breaker arrows.
After the evaluation, the names of the archers who will participate in the European Championship in Ploiesti (Romania), which will be held from July 8 to 13, are now known. Among them there are three Pitiusos: Eduardo Santolaria (Es Cubells), cadet male recurve bow; Toni Roig (S’Arc), in junior men’s recurve bow, and Nur Gómez (Es Cubells), in junior women’s compound bow.
