Slovenian cyclist Tadej Pogacar (UAE Team Emirates) made it clear that he was not surprised to see Jonas Vingegaard on his wheel, although he managed to wear yellow already on the second day, with the current Tour de France champion clearing up doubts about his physical condition .
“When we saw the breakaway go, we knew I had a good chance of reaching the finish line. I felt great on the final circuit. In the first San Luca, the pace was very high thanks to the pace set by Visma. In the second, we decided to take the lead ourselves so I could test myself,” he said after crossing the finish line.
Pogacar was asked about another of the favorites, a Vingegaard who did not have the desired preparation due to his fall in the Tour of the Basque Country. “When I attacked, Jonas Vingegaard came to my wheel immediately.
