The red and pink bench was inaugurated in Piazza Gb Vico in Chieti, created to raise public awareness on the issue of violence against women and to welcome the Giro d’Italia Women 2024 cycling event.
Present at the ceremony were the president of the regional council, Marco Marsilio, with the RCS delegate Maurizio Formichetti and the municipal sports councilor, Manuel Pantalone.
The Teatro Judo champion athletes took part: Lucio Tavoletta, Alessandro D’Urbano, Lucrezia Zedda, Ottavia Napoleone, Asia Toro and Aurora Santarelli.
The women’s pink race, organized by RCS Sport in collaboration with the Italian Cycling Federation and with the participation of the Scarpetta Rossa Aps association, will stop in Chieti on July 12th.
