Indiana Pacers Set to Extend Pascal Siakam’s Contract at Maximum Rate

The Indiana Pacers, on the strength of their good run to the conference finals, want to put their trust in Rick Carlisle’s group. Major step in progress: the extension of Pascal Siakam at the maximum rate.

With the NBA Finals barely over, franchises can now negotiate the future contracts of their eligible players. We were already talking about it this morning, rumors in the corridors suggested an extension between Pascal Siakam and the Pacers. According to the insiderESPN Adrian Wojnarowski, the deal is already ready and both parties are on the same wavelength.

The contract would be for four seasons at the maximum price (and not five years as expected this morning), i.e. $189.5 million. A Pascal Siakam at 47.4 million per season may seem expensive at first glance, but the salary cap will continue to rise significantly in the years to come with the new TV rights deal.

With 21 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and not far from an interception in the yellow tractor uniform, Siakam can claim this status in Indiana. For an All-Star caliber player who perfectly complements the Pacers project and Tyrese Haliburton, the front office did not want to complicate things.

The official signing of the player and the franchise is still missing, which cannot arrive before June 30, the start date of Free Agency. But Spicy P in the land of farmers is a story that is here to stay.
